- Euro Crime has been posting a 3-part interview with Don Bartlett, the translator of Jo Nesbø and K O Dahl's crime fiction books from Norwegian to English. Nesbø and Don Bartlett have been shortlisted with a CWA Dagger Award, and in light of the wave of Scandinavian mystery novels over the past few years, it's interesting to hear from one of the folks who make it possible for English-speakers to enjoy those works, too.
- Speaking of Scandinavian crime fiction, Crime Scraps is reporting that the Swedish Crime Academy have selected the nominees for this year's best translated crime novel (the Martin Beck Award) and the best Swedish crime novel.
- Mystery Fanfare has news of a a mystery writing workshop in Berkeley featuring Cornelia Read, coming up November 21st and 22nd. Meanwhile thousands of miles away, Big Beat From Badsville has a link to an event for writers which combines a writing workshop with forensic science in Edinburgh.
