On the day we honor veterans, why not commemorate by taking part in donating books to current and former troops? Books for Soldiers and Operation Paperback are two national organizations to check out, but there are many others on the local level that you may find via newspaper or other links. You can also take your books to your nearest Vietnam Veterans Of America office or AMVETS thrift store, or if you have boxes of books, you can schedule a pick-up. If there's a VA Hospital nearby, you can also check with them to see if they take donations.
