I read a couple of Buchanan's books, but none in this series. Sounds good.

If you don't start with the first, you'll probably be OK, Richard. You can drop into this second one just fine (and read one of the Edgar noms for that year).

I've never read any Edna Buchanan. I don't know why. Just one of those things. Maybe I'll give her a try. Thanks for the review.

It's very fast-paced stuff and doesn't shy away from the down and dirty, Yvette. But I guess after all those murder cases she reported on, you should expect a slightly darker tone. I've only been to Miami once, but I believe she hits the area details nicely.
