Since this is the end of the week for most folks (except those of us who work seven days a week), it's fitting to report on some sad endings in the mystery community. Mystery News fanzine is closing its doors after 27 years and an Anthony Award at Bouchercon (plus many more nominations) for Best Fan Publication. Proprietors Lynn Kaczmarek and Chris Aldrich will still be attending Bouchercon this year and invite you to stop by their table in the dealer's room, which they'll share with Kate Stine and Brian Skupin, publishers of Mystery Scene. Give 'em your regards and thanks.
Declan Burke, master of Crime Always Pays, has decided to pull the plug on his blog and pursue his own creative endeavors (for which we wish him all the best), unless his wife can convince him to at least post an occasional bit or two for his fans.
This on the heels of Mysterious People (hosted by Jean Henry Mead) which went on hiatus indefinitely as of August 10th. Jean managed to round up a great group of authors to submit to interviews and contribute articles on writing, and those will be sorely missed.
