After watching all those CSI shows, you may think you're an expert on death investigation. The Crime Lab Project, which tries to close the gap between the public's beliefs about the current state of forensic science and the cold, hard reality, created The Death Quiz. Take the quiz, if you dare (but don't peek at the answers). Hopefully, you'll find out more about the state of medical examiners and coroners in the U.S. and become a more informed reader, a better writer -- or an advocate for crime labs and the many folks who work hard each and every day trying to bring criminals to justice and closure to families.
This is the first "Forensic Friday" of the new Crime Lab Project blog, by the way, so check back often for more updates and info.
Surprisingly, the quiz is actually helpful and insighting, and this is coming from a forensic pathologists which all than fed up with unrealistic events the public take for granted in tv shows like CSI.
