Kathleen Ryan, one of The Women of Mystery, posted several Halloween links for your seasonal and entertaining pleasure, although I'll emphasize a couple of them below.
The Stiletto Gang is holding a Hallopalooza starting October 30th. Included in a Halloween Blog Mystery Scavenger hunt, complete with prizes.
Janet Rudolph's Mystery Fanfare has a listing of Halloween mysteries, and if you start today and read 13 of them each day through Halloween, you'll get through all 52 on the list, with a daily short-story chaser.
The Mysterious Bookshop in New York City is hosting a special Halloween party celebrating the release of Otto Penzler's latest anthology, The Vampire Archives. The fun starts October 29th at 6pm with Mr. Penzler and bibliographer Daniel Seitler available to sign books. There'll be some munchies, too.
The bookstore Mystery Loves Company in Oxford, Maryland, is one of the featured participants in a city trick-or-treat event. Come with your best Halloween costume and join them for the party starting at 5:30 on October 31st.
Over at Laurie's Wild West blog, view the exhibit of Halloween-themed pulp fiction covers, with one addition courtesy of Davy Crocketts Almanack.
Sandra Seamans has a little paranormal activity to check out.
J.D. Rhoades at Murderati and Elaine Viets at The Lipstick Chronicles share their favorite ghost stories (with Elaine's having a personal connection).
Eric Cole is featuring 13 Days of Horror, featuring stories and poems by guest contributors.
Still struggling with an idea for your Jack-O-Lantern design? The Oakland Tribune held a pumpkin-carving contest and posted the winners in a slide show on their web site (with thanks to Bill Crider for the link).
Thanks, BV, for the mention! Your post here is chock full of good stuff! Hope you had a spook-tacular Halloween.
