In case you haven't checked it out yet, head over to the online Book Studio, sponsored by Washington, D.C., public television station, WETA*, and headed by editor/critic Bethanne Patrick, who has reviewed for Publishers Weekly, managed the AOL Books channel and blogged for Barnes and Noble. Along with a team of book reviewers, Patrick and the Book Studio offer one new video interview per week, four audio interviews, plus
two written reviews on the site. In addition, Patrick has launched a monthly Twitter Book Club.
Although Patrick says she likes to think they're building a review site, her online interviews are as much a feature about the author as it is a book review. ("I want to show that author interviews don't have to just be about books.") She notes that Washington is a good book town and some authors, such as Michael Connelly, have come back for repeat interviews.
For examples of content, check out the recent features with Michael Connelly, George Pelecanos, Sara Paretsky and Linda Fairstein.
