I enjoyed (and participated in) Barbara Fister's Carnival of the Criminal Minds which had a good run from September 2007 to February of this year. Although I missed it when Barbara decided it had run its course, I understood her rationale, and she's certainly still busy in many other ways supporting crime fiction. I'd thought at one time to set up my own carnival and may still at some future point, but as anyone who operates a blog knows, it can be a huge time vampire in an of itself without taking on another one.
So, I was pleased to note that A.F. Heart over at her blog Mysteries and My Musings announced she was setting up a new carnival, to be focused on "Mystery/Crime Fiction/Suspense books and the craft of writing them." She's asking for anyone who reviews mystery, crime fiction, or suspense books, has authors interviews that discuss writing mystery or crime fiction, or blogs on fiction writing advice, to join her and sign up. She's starting out sensibly by including one blog posting the first Monday of each month.
I absolutely love the phrase 'time vampire'....

Ah, if only I were that original! I love the phrase, too, but haven't been able to trace the originator. Still, it's SO true...
