George Kelley

I still find Lockridge books in thrift stories and library sales. They must have sold a ton in their day.

Joe Barone

This book sounded interesting. I am in the process of getting a copy of it. Thanks for letting me know about the authors and their books. I read a lot of mysteries in the 50's and 60's, but not these.

I'm not surprised you're still finding them, George, considering how popular the North series was (and probably even more so, thanks to the TV/radio/movie tie-ins).

BV Lawson

Although the Heimrich series never got the same attention as that with Mr. and Mrs. North, I wonder if Richard Lockridge enjoyed writing them more. The North books had more humor, and these are slightly more straight-laced, Joe. It's a fairly quick read, too.

Oh, this sounds like the sort of story I love to read. I love 'dying words' stories. :)

Thanks for the tip. I've only ever read the Mr. and Mrs. North books, and those (except for one), eons ago.

Just ordered a copy. Couldn't resist. :)

BV Lawson

Hope you enjoy it! I should try to get to other books in the series (my library has one or two).
