John

Ah nuts! Another blogger beats me at the game. I have read THE INGENIOUS MR STONE and really enjoyed it. An odd mix of different narrative styles and a blend of HIBK and traditional detective novel. A very wry sense of humor on display in that book, too. I guess it's his trademark based on your reading of the book reviewed here. I have been planning to write about Player and his unusual crime novels for a while. Never heard of this one though.

I'm sorry I beat you to it, John, because until I turned this book up, I hadn't heard of Player at all. But I encourage you to feature another of his books in one of your future blogs, because I'd love to hear your take on his writing, too.
